Since I signed up for Second Life six months ago one of the things I have loved to do is explore. Initially I picked random places from the Destination Guide and gradually expanded my friends list and with it my Landmarks. When I started working with the GA I became interested in exploring the GA Estates and what they have to offer. Tou-Gen-kyo is a hidden treasure well worth giving some time to.
When I first popped onto the Estate I thought the landmark must have been to someone’s private residence and began to hesitantly look around. The main island is a horseshoe shape of white beach, surrounding a lagoon with crystal blue water. I stuck to the edges of the beach, thinking that the large modern structure in the center must be someone’s home.
Scattered along the edges of the island are various relaxation areas, many with adult animations available. From a small surf shack with adult surfboards to hammocks and fire rings, the left side of the island (when looking at the lagoon) is comfort and relaxation. Everything is beautifully landscaped to feel like a tropical paradise, with a welcome combination of privacy and exhibitionism.
The opposite side of the lagoon features a full service wedding chapel, complete with a Bot minister n rezzed poseballs. Further down the beach are 3 modern cabanas with working public sex bed and bathtubs. Scattered along the shore are beach recliners complete with animations.
The center of the beach, lagoon side, features a large deck complete with multiple seating areas. Well furnished in dark woods with light furnishings it is well executed and perfect for just relaxing.
The large modern structure I thought was a residence is in fact the recreation center and shopping mall. The lower level features a fully equipped gym, The main level is accessible from the gym through stairs to the roof, or from the main staircase off the beach. The exterior of the mall is gorgeously decorated with several pools and more seating areas. Once inside there is a wide selection of merchants, most in open storefronts, including Gabriel, xy clothing, [ink hair] and vita men, just to name a few.
Following the path up from the beach you pass over a rope n wood bridge, past a small temple type area, and continue down a path covered in red wood arches. This path ultimately leads you to a traditional Japanese “Inn” or monastery, complete with tea room, meditation garden, and sleeping and bathing areas.
This is one location I would recommend just visiting, enjoying the beauty and taking your loved one with you to fully enjoy the public and private offerings.
